Hub member commences work on distinguished grant worth $427,000

Dr. Monika Zalnieriute, a former Hub Research Fellow, and now a Senior Lecturer at UNSW Faculty of Law and Justice, was recently awarded an ARC Discovery Early Career Award (DECRA, $426,530, 2021-2024). Monika’s project ‘AI Decision-Making, Data Privacy and Discrimination Laws’ (2021-2024) draws on mixed method research design to question the effectiveness of discrimination and data privacy laws in preventing AI discrimination and further isolation of historically discriminated groups, such as LGBTI, women, and racialized communities.
