Proposed changes to NSW computer crime legislation made by Hub Director and team may become reality

Hub Director Lyria Bennett Moses and team made an impact recently with their recommendations regarding planned changes to Commonwealth criminal laws related to cyber security vulnerability disclosure during a recent 'Cyber Insights' roundtable. This event was attended by 20 cyber security leaders from across NSW government, industry and academia, including Minister Victor Dominello, who is planning to pursue the changes before his retirement from politics in early 2023.

Professor Bennett Moses and team presented a briefing recommending a ‘cyber socket’ to allow greater ease for organisations to create vulnerability disclosure programs that align with legislation.

Excitingly, Minister Dominello has committed to taking their proposal to a future Digital and Data Ministers Meeting prior to his departure.
