Hub strengthening its relationships with universities in India

During a recent trip to India Hub postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Monika Zalnieriute, met with an advocate of the Supreme Court of India, Mr. Pavan Duggal, to discuss future research collaboration and potential joint initiatives between the Hub, and universities in India. In particular, Monika discussed possibilities for the Hub and UNSW Law to get involved in Cyber Law University (online), which would give the Hub a strong foothold and visibility in India.

Monika was in New Delhi to attend the International Conference on Cyberlaw, Cybercrime & Cybersecurity, of which Mr Pavan was the conference director. This year’s theme was “Working towards a Cyber Secure, Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem.” Monika spoke on two discussion panels related to Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, and also presented the latest work of the Hub’s researchers.  She especially focused on the challenges to the rule of law that arise with the use of AI and machine learning by governments.
